Abstract

ABSTRACT

Construction of building structures, on soft soil has become a choice that is difficult to avoid. Various methods have been used to treat soft soil problems, either physically or mechanically, or by adding certain chemicals to the soil. But with some considerations, the soft soil handling technology, there are several alternatives that cannot be used. One alternative for handling soft soil is to apply a cement aggregate foundation layer with local materials. Reinforcement of soft soil with a cement aggregate foundation layer is one of the chosen technological innovations, especially for soil reinforcement in the Merauke area on the Tanah Merah-Mindiptana section. The compressive strength test is used to evaluate the cement aggregate foundation layer with local materials for road foundation layers with local materials in the area around Merauke district and Boven Digoel district (Tanah Merah sirtu). The cement content used was 3, 5, 7 and 9%. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the average compressive strength value of cement aggregate foundation layer using local Papuan material, namely Tanah Merah sirtu washed with cement content of 3%, 5%, 7% and 9%, which are 22 kg/cm2, 39 kg/cm2, 54 kg/cm2 and 78 kg/cm2 or increased with the addition of cement content of 77.27%, 38.46% and 44.44%, respectively.
